Presented at the Forum’s annual Conference, the Jeffrey Davidow Good Neighbor Award honors Ambassador Davidow’s emblematic diplomatic career and recognizes individuals who promote cooperation and understanding between the U.S. and Mexico.
USMEX also gave a public policy award to four institutions that oversaw the vaccination of more than 100,000 Mexicans along the San Diego – Tijuana border. The awardees were Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, UC San Diego Health, Consejo de Desarrollo de Tijuana and San Diego County Health Department.
In 2023, Gastón Luken Aguilar was granted this award due to his extraordinary contributions to the preservation of natural resources in the region of the Sea of Cortez, also known as The World’s Aquarium.
the 2024 Jeffrey Davidow Good Neighbor Award was presented to Laura Diez Barroso Azcarraga and Carlos Laviada Ocejo to honor their extraordinary contributions to U.S.-Mexico mobility in the Tijuana-San Diego region.
